Cancer diagnosis can be devastating to the patient and their families, irrespective of socio-economic class. But for the middle and low income families, cancer diagnosis can be excruciating. But with affordable, accessible and high-quality cancer care services, cancer can be fought and overcome with confidence.
NCH is a not-for-profit social initiative of Udhavum Ullangal Public Charitable Trust, envisioned to bridge the gap between high-quality and affordable cancer care services. We aim to establish a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center that provides affordable, accessible and holistic cancer care services for all, regardless of socio-economic status.
We believe early detection is key to successful cancer treatment, and we want to ensure everyone has access to these life-saving services. Guided by the World Health Organisation's cancer care framework, we will provide a gamut of cancer prevention and care services for people in and around Tirunelveli. Our center will be staffed by a team of experienced medical professionals dedicated to providing compassionate care to our patients.

Every year, nearly 6000 new patients are diagnosed with cancer in the districts of Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, and Thoothukudi. Oral, breast, and cervical cancers are the most prevalent in this region, accounting for almost 50% of cancer cases reported annually.
To combat the rising incidence of cancer in the region, Nellai Cancer Care Centre (NCCC) was established in 2011. Established in partnership with Cancer Institute, Adyar, and Krishna Hospitals in Tirunelveli, the NCCC was inaugurated by the Late Dr. V. Shanta, Former Chairperson of Adyar Cancer Institute. By adopting a multi-pronged approach involving cancer awareness and screening programmes, diagnostics, treatment and palliative care services, we have established a strong connection with the community. Today we are at the forefront of providing cancer care services to patients from all sections of society.
Our team of experienced medical professionals is dedicated to delivering personalized care tailored to each patient’s needs. With a focus on early detection and prevention, we are committed to reducing cancer incidence in our community and improving the lives of those affected by this disease.
